GSO Participates in Motorcycle and Tire Requirements Seminar in Bahrain
The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) has been participating in the awareness seminar “Gulf motorcycle and tires requirements” that has been held on September 29, 2019 and organized by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain represented by the Department of Inspection and Metrology, in cooperation with GSO.
In this seminar, GSO has introduced its tasks and its main activities, as well as presenting the gulf requirements and Electronic Conformity Certificate Scheme (ECCS) for motorcycles and their tires. Also, the procedures to verify the safety of these products, providing an explanation of the Re-Call system for products subjected to Gulf certificates.
GSO expressed its willingness to cooperate with the governmental and public sectors in the GCC countries, which work to apply the laws and regulations to ensure the public interest, as well as cooperation with the private sector to achieve its objectives and facilitate its access to markets, taking into account consumer protection and safety for health and the environment.
The seminar was organized with the aim of raising awareness on the supervisory program on motorcycles and their tires, and the proper mechanism in obtaining conformity certificates authentication and the role of each side in this regard, and to open the way for traders and interested parties to discuss and address their problems.
