GSO to organize workshop on the European Standardization System and Partnership with Small and Medium Corporations

Represented by the GCC Standardization Council for Training, the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) organized in Riyadh workshop titled “standardization- European standardization system and partnership with small and medium enterprises”, in cooperation with CEN and CENELEC.
H.E. Mr. Nabil bin Amin Molla, GSO Secretary General, stated that the purpose of workshop is to promote active participation of small and medium corporations in the standardization process by teaching the participants about the European standardization system and partnership with small and medium industries to meet the needs of these corporations and guarantee their interests.
Molla added that the workshop discussed several topics, including the standards and their relation to legislation in the European Union and the technical structure of the European organizations CEN and CENELEC, and the European outputs and publications and their development process, in addition to the activities of European organizations CEN and CENELEC and GSO concerning the small and medium corporations.
The workshop targeted the national standardization organizations and government standardization agencies.
This workshop comes is driven by the direction of the GCC standardization training council which is the first training council specialized in the field of standardization and related activities in the region for contribution to the development of national executives in the member states to meet the vocational work requirements and raise the awareness on the importance of standardization and different related activities that support it, in collaboration with the national standardization organizations and related agencies in the member states.
