GSO organizes the Renewal Energy Program and Energy Storage Technologies
 

During 27-29 April 2015 in Doha, Qatar, the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), Represented by the GCC Standardization Training Center, organizes training program on “renewable energy and energy storage technologies” in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Gulf Organization for Research and Development (GORD).

H.E.  Mr. Nabil bin Amin Molla, Secretary General of the GCC Standardization Organization said that the purpose of training program is to provide participants with the basic knowledge in the field of production and use of  energy and environment conservation. The program targets the members of Gulf Technical Committee, members of corresponding national technical committees in the member states, and other related authorities.

“The training program comes in line with the directions of member states to utilize the renewal energy sources”, he stated, adding that “this program comprise broad range of topics, including the international standards of renewable energy and the role it plays for conservation of environment that also focuses on the state of the art technologies in storage of renewable energy and energy efficiency. This program combines the theoretical and applied training in the field of renewable energy and storage technologies, with field visits to leading specialized corporations in the field”.

He noted that the Technical Council of the Standardization Organization of GCC countries agreed in its thirty-three meeting on creation of GCC specialized technical committee in the field of renewable energy standards and energy storage technologies.

It is noteworthy that this course comes within the course of the GCC Standardization Training Center, the first specialized training center in the field of standardization and related activities in the region, to contribute to development of national staff in the GCC member states to satisfy the vocational work requirements and raise awareness on the importance of standardization and the different related and supporting activities in cooperation with the national standardization agencies and the related authorities in the member states.
