Workshop on the role of the GSO in enhancing product safety
 

The GSO and its Role in Enhancing Product Safety workshop was organized by the GSO in cooperation with the Department of Standards and Metrology at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain on Wednesday, 25TH January 2017.

The workshop was opened by HE Mr. Nabil bin Amin Molla, GSO Secretary General and HE Mr. Hamid Yousef Rahmah, Assistant Undersecretary for Local Trade at the Ministry.

The workshop aimed to present and explain the mechanisms of the Gulf system to control the safety of products in the (GCC) common market, including conformity assessment procedures for the products subjected to the system, and to clarify the concepts of the Gulf code to follow conformity as one of the means available to the parties concerned with the control of products at customs outlets or markets of Member States. Participants representing a number of acceptable bodies and conformity assessment authorities in the GCC countries, as well as representatives of the regulatory bodies.
