GSO Participates in Made in the Gulf 2026 Forum and Exhibition in Bahrain

The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), represented by a delegation headed by H.E. Eng. Jabor Mohamed Al-Naimi, President of GSO, is participating in the Made in the Gulf 2026 Forum and Exhibition, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain from 6 to 8 October 2026 at Exhibition World Bahrain. The event is held under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the support of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

The forum and its accompanying exhibition, organized by Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce in cooperation with the GCC General Secretariat, have attracted broad participation from government officials, decision-makers, industrial leaders, manufacturers, investors, innovators, and experts, as well as representatives of logistics companies, supply chains, and industrial sectors from across the GCC and beyond.

The inaugural edition of the forum and exhibition serves as a regional platform bringing together industrial policies, business, and investment under one umbrella. It coincides with the meetings of the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee, Commercial Cooperation Committee, and Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs.

The two-day forum features ministerial sessions, executive dialogues, and specialized discussions involving senior officials, industry leaders, and experts. These sessions address key priorities shaping the future of GCC industry, including industrial integration, trade exchange, access to global markets, supply chain resilience, green and sustainable industries, smart manufacturing, and industrial infrastructure. Discussions also cover smart factories, Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation.

GSO experts are contributing three working papers addressing the following topics:

  • “The Role of GCC Standardization in Supporting Product Competitiveness, Enhancing Intra-GCC Trade, and Facilitating Access to Global Markets.”
  • “Quality Infrastructure and Its Role in Empowering Industrial Cities and Promoting Industrial Investment.”
  • “GCC Standardization and Conformity Assessment Services as a Tool for Promoting Fair Competition and Protecting GCC Markets.”

The forum and exhibition aim to strengthen industrial cooperation and integration among GCC member states, enhance the competitiveness of Gulf industries, and develop regional value chains. They also seek to showcase GCC industrial products, technologies, and solutions, connect manufacturers with investors, buyers, and partners, and create new opportunities for investment and exports.

Furthermore, the event aims to establish “Made in the Gulf” as a distinctive identity reflecting the quality, excellence, and competitiveness of GCC products, while strengthening the presence of Gulf industries in regional and international markets. These objectives support the GCC member states’ efforts toward economic diversification and sustainable industrial development.

The accompanying three-day industrial exhibition showcases a wide range of GCC products, technologies, industrial solutions, and innovations across various sectors, including aluminum, petrochemicals and chemicals, iron, steel and metals, food and pharmaceuticals, construction materials, automotive and transportation, renewable energy, machinery and equipment, plastics and packaging, electronics and technology, logistics, and supply chains.

The exhibition features extensive industrial participation from GCC member states. According to the exhibitor directory, more than 120 organizations and companies from member states are participating, alongside dedicated GCC pavilions. The exhibition provides a platform to highlight the region’s industrial and technological capabilities, facilitate bilateral business meetings, explore cooperation and investment opportunities, and establish partnerships among manufacturers, investors, and buyers.

GSO is participating in the accompanying exhibition within the GCC General Secretariat’s pavilion, where it is highlighting its role and ongoing efforts in developing the GCC standardization system, alongside a selection of guidelines and awareness materials.

GSO’s participation in the forum and exhibition reflects its commitment to advancing joint GCC cooperation, strengthening economic and industrial integration among member states, and emphasizing the importance of standardization and quality as essential enablers of industrial development and competitiveness. These efforts align with the region’s aspirations to build a more integrated, sustainable, and future-ready GCC industrial economy.
