The agreement was signed on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, at GSO headquarters in Riyadh, marking the beginning of the practical phase of the Center’s institutional accreditation process.

The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Eng. Jabor Mohamed Al-Naimi, President of the GCC Standardization Organization, and Mr. Fahad Al-Shalaan, Vice Governor for Shared Services at the Education and Training Evaluation Commission. The agreement was signed on behalf of GSO by Mr. Sami Al-Braidi, Director of the GCC Standardization Training Center, and on behalf of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission by Dr. Mohammed Al-Khairi, Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Training Evaluation and Accreditation.

The signing marks a key milestone in officially launching the institutional accreditation process for the GCC Standardization Training Center. It supports the continued development of the Center’s training system and contributes to enhancing the quality and effectiveness of its training programs across the GCC Member States. It also represents the culmination of the Center’s efforts to fulfill all eligibility requirements and standards necessary to enter the accreditation pathway, officially commencing the first practical phase toward obtaining comprehensive institutional accreditation.

Institutional accreditation is regarded as a fundamental pillar for ensuring the quality of training and the application of the highest standards of efficiency and professionalism. Obtaining this accreditation represents a strategic achievement for the GCC Standardization Training Center, strengthening the credibility of its training programs and certifications while enhancing the competencies of professionals working in the fields of standardization and quality throughout the GCC Member States. This aligns with the shared Gulf vision of establishing a training environment that meets international standards.

This milestone also reflects GSO’s commitment to promoting a culture of quality and institutional excellence in training and to developing a sustainable Gulf training ecosystem capable of responding to the evolving needs of the standardization and quality sectors. Furthermore, the accreditation enhances the Center’s position as a specialized regional training platform that contributes to capacity building, knowledge and expertise exchange, and the delivery of high-quality, internationally credible training programs that support GSO’s objectives of advancing quality infrastructure and strengthening GCC integration in this field.
