Jordanian Delegation Visits GSO to Review Gulf Vehicle Certificates
The GCC Standardization Organization received, at its headquarters in Riyadh on Thursday, 6 November 2025, an official delegation from the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization, as part of the ongoing cooperation between the two organizations and in continuation of efforts to enhance integration in the transport and vehicle regulatory system. This visit coincided with the commencement of JSMO’s acceptance and recognition of Gulf certificates issued by the GCC Standardization Organization for all types of vehicles, effective 1 November 2025.
The visit aimed to provide first-hand insight into the regulations, technical regulations, approved procedures, and technical systems used for issuing Gulf vehicle certificates. It also covered mechanisms for certificate verification, technical inspection requirements for each vehicle type, registration procedures, and other topics related to vehicle safety and compliance with Gulf standards.
The delegation included specialists in border control, technical inspection, legal affairs, and the review of vehicle approval applications, with the objective of learning about Gulf operational mechanisms in this field and exploring ways to enhance technical cooperation between the two sides.
This visit forms part of the GCC Standardization Organization’s efforts to support the harmonization of technical requirements, facilitate vehicle movement in accordance with the highest safety and quality standards, and strengthen joint Arab cooperation in the fields of standardization and quality.
