GSO Technical Council Honors Distinguished Gulf Technical Committees for 2023
The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) Technical Council honored the Gulf Technical Committees for Standards that achieved outstanding performance in preparing and developing Gulf standards during 2023.
The recognition ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Council’s 61st meeting, recently held in the State of Kuwait, in the presence of Their Excellencies, Members of the Technical Council, chairpersons and members of the technical committees, and representatives of the national standardization bodies from the GSO Member States.
According to the 2023 performance evaluation of the Gulf Technical Committees for Standards, the Gulf Technical Committee for Medical Devices and Supplies Standards ranked first, followed by the Gulf Technical Committee for Electrical and Electronic Standards in second place, and the Gulf Technical Committee for Construction and Building Materials Standards in third place. The Gulf Technical Committee for Chemical and Textile Standards ranked fourth, while the Gulf Technical Committee for Oil and Gas Standards came in fifth.
GSO extended its sincere congratulations and appreciation to all technical committees, particularly the distinguished ones, commending their dedicated efforts and active role in advancing the standardization system at both national and regional levels. GSO also emphasized that such achievements reflect the strength of joint Gulf cooperation and the collective commitment to enhancing the quality and safety of products in the Gulf market.
On the same occasion, GSO honored H.E. Eng. Mohammed Eid Al-Adwani, former Director General of the Public Authority for Industry in the State of Kuwait, in recognition of his commendable efforts and valuable contributions while representing Kuwait in the meetings of GSO’s Technical Council and other organizational activities. GSO expressed its sincere appreciation to His Excellency and wished him continued success and prosperity.
