The GCC Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs holds its fifth meeting in Muscat
 

The GCC Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs holds its fifth meeting tomorrow Thursday hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, in Muscat.

It is held under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mr. Qais bin Muhammad bin Musa Al-Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Chairman of the current session of the Committee, and in the presence of Their Excellencies Heads of delegations, members of the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs, with participation of His Excellency Mr. Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), and His Excellency Mr. Saud bin Nasser Al-Khasibi, President of the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO).

In its meeting, the Committee will be acquainted with the most important activities and achievements of GSO during the period from October 2022 to April 2023, in the fields of standards, metrology and conformity, building of technical capabilities, strengthening regional and international relations, exchanging experiences with all bodies concerned with standardization activities, and the level of progress in implementing the initiatives of the Strategic Plan (2021-2025).

The Committee will also discuss a number of topics on its agenda, most notably the adoption of new Gulf technical regulations covering a number of commodities, products and sectors. It discussed GSO’s final account for the year 2022, in addition to a number of issues related to standardization activities in the GCC States.
