GSO Issued the Gulf Guide for Safe Work and Business Continuity During (Covid-19)
 

The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) has issued the “Gulf Guide for Safe Work and Business Continuity During (Covid-19)” as a guideline for the purpose of helping organizations to avoid the adverse effects of this pandemic through mechanisms and practical steps that help them to develop their procedures to provide the necessary protection for their employees from getting infected with (COVID-19) in the work environment.

His Excellency Mr. Saud bin Nasser Al-Khusaibi, GSO president, explained the importance role played by GSO as a Gulf organization that contributes to protect Gulf human safety, the environment, public health and support for the national economy of the member states. Therefore, GSO has taken the initiative to prepare and issue the “Gulf guide for safe work and business continuity during (Covid-19), and to deal with the risks and consequences imposed by the pandemic on all aspects of life, including the work environment, and facing the huge challenges to confront the impact of this pandemic, which has gone beyond the health aspect to include many social and economic fields. Which in turn was directly reflected inside the workplace, and it had to follow preventive protocols to limit the spread of (Covid-19) among its employees.

His Excellency expressed his hope that GSO has succeeded in providing what fulfills the aspirations and meets the needs of this sectors at this time, which necessitates concerted all efforts to promote joint Gulf action.

Pointing out that the guide will be updated according to the developments and consequences related to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the latest version of the guide can be accessed via GSO’s website www.gso.org.sa. It is worth noting that GSO is practicing its activities in unifying the various standardization activities and following up implementation and compliance with the same in cooperation and coordination with (NSBs) to develop the production and service sectors, foster the intra-GCC trade, protect the consumer, environment and the public health, in addition, to enhance the GCC economy and its competitiveness and to meet the requirements of Gulf Custom Union and Gulf Common Market.
