Workshop Objectives:
This two-days workshop aims at:
- introducing participants to the theoretical concepts and applied Standards and Technical Regulations related to Halal food at the national , regional and international levels, and its importance of the Muslim community and its conformity with the provisions of the Shariah.
- identifying the mechanisms and procedures for preparing , updating and development of GSO standards and technical regulations, and on the technical regulations followed in stages of accreditation and certification.
- providing required solutions and skills, models and experiences of countries
- exchanging of views and the appropriate means to develop the standards related to Halal and conformity assessment and certification skills.
Target groups
- GCC Team members of Halal.
- Technicians working in the National Standards bodies (NSBs).
- National technical committee members.
- Private actors participated in technical committees for the preparation of relevant standards of the Halal.
- Legislative bodies, regulatory bodies and conformity assessment and certification.
- Specialists in product development in national factories in the Member States.

- Certification Bodies of Halal products: requirements and application
- Halal - Best practices in Malaysia", which will cover halal standards and conformance infrastructure in Malaysia and its related issues
- Case study: UAE system for the control of Halal food.
- The Application of Halal Standards and control procedures in GSO member states.
- Analytical instruments used in Halal food: Testing the remnants of pork in food and how to accredit the results of the tests.
- Testing of pig fat and its derivatives using chemical tests.

It identifies the mechanisms and procedures for preparing , updating and development of GSO standards and technical regulations, and on the technical regulations followed in stages of accreditation and certification. This workshop also provides participants with the required solutions and skills, display and models and experiences of countries, and give them the chance to exchange views and appropriate means to develop the standards and technical regulations related to Halal and conformity assessment and certification skills.
