This Gulf standard deals with the spheroidal graphite or nodular graphite cast iron. The classification of spheroidal graphite cast iron is according to the mechanical properties of the material. This standard applies to spherical graphite cast-iron cast in sand moulds or in moulds of comparatively thermal diffusivity. Spherical graphite or nodular graphite, castiron is a casting alloy, iron and carbon based, the latter element being present mainly in the form of spherical graphite particles.
