This Gulf standard is concerned with the measurement of ductility of bituminous material by the distance to which it will elongate before breaking when two ends of a standard mould of the material, of the form described in clause 2, are pulled apart at a specified speed and temperature. Unless otherwise specified, the test shall be carried out at a temperature of 25 ± 0.5oC and a speed of 50 mm/min. ± 5.0%. At other temperatures the speed should be specified.
