This Gulf standard is concerned with sulphuric acid types 1, 2, 3 4 and 5 used for the following purposes. Type 1: Used as an analytical reagent. Type 2: Chemical pure grade used for chemical analysis and certain fine chemical industries. Type 3: Used in lead-acid batteries. Type 4: A technical grade used for different industrial purposes such as: Fertilizer industry, petroleum refinery, dyes, iron and steel, pencils, explosives, non-ferrous metals, galvanization and electroplating processes. Type 5: A technical fuming grade used for different purposes such as: Sulphonation processes, water absorbing agent in nitration processes, dye industry, explosives and petroleum refining.
