تختص هذه المواصفة القياسية بالاشتراطات الواجب توافرها في أكياس ( أظرف ) النيكوتين ، والمخصصة للاستخدام حصريا من خلال الفم وذلك بوضعها بين اللثة والغشاء المخاطي للفم لفترة من الزمن ، لتسهيل امتصاص النيكوتين عبر الغشاء المخاطي للفم ، ومن ثم التخلص من الكيس بعد الاستخدام .
