This standard specifies the technical requirements and markings for new replacement wheels designed for passenger cars (M₁), multi-purpose vehicles, light trucks (N₁) (include off-road vehicles M₁G and N₁G) and trailers (O₁ and O₂) is which use passenger car wheels but not exceed 3500 kg.

This standard does not apply to:

(a) Original equipment wheels (OE) or vehicle manufacturer’s replacement wheels;

(b) Special wheels;

(c) This standard does not apply to wheels with less than three-wheel fixing components (studs or nuts) which are not identical replacement wheels.
