Summary – Qualification of Reviewers for Calibration and Measurement Capabilities Training

A joint initiative by BIPM and GULFMET, this training develops the skills of GULFMET technical experts involved in CIPM MRA CMC submissions and reviews. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the complete CMC workflow—from drafting to publication—within the KCDB environment.

Key elements include:

  • Overview of the CIPM MRA and the role of CMCs in proving internationally recognized metrological competence.
  • Practical training on the KCDB web interface (account setup and roles: Writer, Reviewer, TC Chair).
  • Coverage of CIPM MRA requirements: specifications, uncertainty expression, traceability, technical evidence, and QMS requirements.
  • GULFMET-specific and regional practices, with expert input from various metrology fields.
  • Hands-on sessions to prepare and review CMCs, including intra-RMO and JCRB review processes.
  • Knowledge delivery through presentations, demonstrations, exercises, and review simulations.
  • Participants complete drafting/review exercises on the KCDB platform and receive certificates upon successful completion.
