Introduction:
The program previews (International Classification for Standards ICS) issued by the International Organization for Standardization ISO, which is used in the classification of various technical documents such as standards and technical regulations based on their technical content, and the rules of using this system with a hands-on training for the participants.
Course Objectives:
Enables participants who are dealing or using the ICS system for Bibliographic Description such as classification or characterization of technical documents through the development of correct descriptors through hands-on training on the ICS using selected practical examples and exercises to enable participants to achieve the optimum notation (ICS number(s)) for those documents.

• Program Objectives.
• The importance of documentation and its uses and the tools used to document and information retrieval.
• The main objective of the development of International Classification for Standards (ICS) system.
• Elements of the ICS system and the structural relationship between them, with examples of each level.
• Rules for using the ICS to classify a document (ICS number(s)), with practical examples.
• Instructions on using the ICS and the correct way to use it.
• Using the alphabetical index of the ICS.
• Reclassification when the ICS system has been modified.
• Hands-on training on ICS.
