Knowledge management is one of the most important strategies and modern management methods required to achieve development and change and competitive advantage. It has proven its usefulness in the world of industry and production and in sustaining the success of organizations. Renewed and innovative knowledge is one of the most important factors of managerial success, and an important pillar on which leadership depends on achieving its strategies in various fields.
In order to manage and classify the sources of information, knowledge and sciences related to standardization activities, the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) has sought to employ knowledge management and add specialized section within its organizational structure approved by its distinguished Board of Directors (Riyadh, November 05th 2015). GSO includes many initiatives in its strategic plan (2016-2020) such as conducting studies and surveys, developing information sources and database, providing GSO and international standards, updating the GSO e-library, to transfer and share knowledge in standardization activities and best practices that support the implementation of standardization activities in the region serving the National Standardization Bodies (NSBs) and supporting decision-making and business development.
